Eleven days ago, it was Gustav Nyquist.

Today, it’s Teemu Pulkkinen.

The Red Wings continued signing top prospects today when they agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Pulkkinen.

The 23-year-old forward played in 31 games with Detroit this past season, recording eight points in the process. Despite playing in only 46 AHL contests, Pulkkinen still recorded 61 points and a league-high 34 goals. He was named an AHL first-team all-star.

Pulkkinen, a native of Vantaa, Finland, has recorded 121 points in 119 regular-season games with the Griffins the past two seasons. Before arriving in North America, he played parts of five seasons with Finland’s SM-Liiga.

He was a fourth-round pick of the Red Wings in 2010.

During a media call introducing Brad Richards and Mike Green, Red Wings GM Ken Holland said there was no way Pulkkinen would hit waivers, and that he will be on the 14-forward list for the opening night roster.

Chuck Pleiness of The Macomb Daily is reporting that the contract is for $735,000.
