Last week, it was USA Hockey recognizing him for his outstanding season of junior hockey.

Now, it’s the league he played in.

The USHL announced today that Shelby Township native Kyle Connor is their player of the year, after the Youngstown Phantoms forward led the league in scoring with 80 points in 56 games.

Connor, a University of Michigan commit, was voted the forward of the year by the USHL, as well, and he was selected for both awards by a collection of votes from coaches and general managers.

Last Thursday, Connor was named USA Hockey’s Junior Player of the Year – you can read about that one here.
