Two Michigan boys have claimed monthly honors from the WCHA.

Ferris State forward Mitch Maloney has been named the offensive player of the month by the college hockey conference, while Bowling Green goaltender Ryan Bednard has been named the goalie of the month.

Both of them hail from Macomb, Mich.

Maloney scored nine times in eight games during the month of November. That’s three more tallies than any other player in the WCHA, and a tie for the most in the country.

He also posted a WCHA-best 10 points, and his +7 rating for the month was good for second in the conference.

Bednard was undefeated in six games (four starts) while leading the WCHA with a 1.67 goals-against average and .937 save percentage.
