Just a few weeks after his viral video, Mark Estapa is back in the hockey news.

This time, it’s about him committing to Western Michigan.

The Little Caesars 15U forward announced tonight that he has committed to the Broncos – the latest player from Kris Draper’s talented squad to secure a spot with a D1 hockey program.

“I love the way the Broncos play under Coach [Andy] Murray and the rest of the coaching staff,” Estapa told MiHockey. “They put the team in the best position to be successful each game. The team competes hard and uses physical play to create scoring opportunities. I want to be a part of that.”

Estapa said he’s also been impressed with the student section at WMU.

“The Lawson Lunatics are outstanding and make WMU the best college hockey atmosphere in the United States,” Estapa said. “WMU also provides a fantastic opportunity to further my education.”

The young forward also wanted to thank the people who have helped him reach this point in his hockey career:

“Thank you to my family, my teammates and my coaches, including Kris Draper, Craig Roehl, Paul Moretz, Mike Nodler, Todd Korpi and Bob King; as well as my skills instructors Matt Warren, Trevor Edwards, Shane Thomlinson and Carol McPhereson.”
