Red Wings reduce roster to 33; Rasmussen back to juniors

The Detroit Red Wings announced roster cuts today, bringing the team’s current line-up down to 33.

Among the cuts are 2017 first-round pick Michael Rasmussen, who will head back to his junior team.

Players assigned to Grand Rapids: Axel Holmstrom, Dylan Sadowy and Dominic Turgeon; defensemen Joe Hicketts, Dan Renouf and Vili Saarijarvi; and goaltender Tom McCollum.

The Wings also released forwards Colin Campbell, Matthew Ford, PA Parenteau and Dominik Shine from their tryout contracts.
