On Saturday, for the first time ever, Little Caesars Arena hosted a game within its new state-of-the-art, 20,000-seat hockey rink…at 3:30 p.m.

That’s right. Three and a half hours before the Red Wings played in their first game at the new building, the ’05 Rochester Rattlers and the ’05 Macomb Mavericks squared off on the big ice at LCA.

Check out MiHockey’s photos from a once-in-a-lifetime moment for this lucky group of kids, who will forever be able to say that they played in the first official game at Little Caesars Arena.
