Jake Transit is on his way to Big Rapids.

The Royal Oak native has announced his commitment to Ferris State University.

“I picked Ferris State because of how well I connected with the coaches as soon as I met them,” Transit told MiHockey. “It feels like the perfect fit for me.”

Transit, who has played with the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies, Belle Tire and Honeybaked, is currently with the Dubuque Fighting Saints. A 2017 draft pick of the USHL club, Transit has a spot with the NAHL’s Shreveport Mudbugs if he needs another year before USHL duty.

Transit is an alumnus of the Total Package Hockey Center of Excellence, as well.

“I can’t wait to get to Big Rapids and play in front of the student section and experience college hockey as a student-athlete,” Transit said.”
