Spencer DenBeste will be heading back to the Upper Peninsula soon.

The Marquette native and Soo Indians alum has committed to Lake Superior State for his college hockey career.

“I played right there for two years with the Soo Indians, so I got to know the area really well,” DenBeste told MiHockey. “I love the campus and the rink, the coaching staff is great – I thought LSSU was the best fit for me.”

A Springfield Jr. Blues (NAHL) forward and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (USHL) draftee, DenBeste played for his high school team, the Marquette Redmen, before joining the Soo Indians AAA program.

“I am looking forward to the next chapter in my hockey career at Lake State,” DenBeste said. “I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the support of my parents and a huge thanks to all my coaches, as well.”
