The Michigan State Spartans have locked up another Little Caesars forward.

Carter Mazur, a 2002 birth-year skater on Kris Draper’s LC squad, committed to MSU on Saturday.

“It feels amazing,” Mazur told MiHockey during the first intermission of the Team USA vs. Canada game at the World Junior Summer Showcase in Plymouth. “It was nerve-wracking, but a great feeling at the same time.”

Mazur will be playing 15U hockey with Little Caesars this fall. His LC teammate Tiernan Shoudy – who is moving up to 16U for the 2016-17 campaign – also committed to MSU this week.

“I’m very excited to play college hockey,” Mazur said. “I’ve always dreamed of it, playing mini sticks in my basement when I was like 4, and it’s just an exciting feeling.”

Why MSU?

“I picked MSU because of the education I can get, the new coaching staff, the building and the renovations eventually coming to Munn, really everything,” Mazur said. “I’m excited for the new coaching staff with Danton Cole, and glad to be a part of it.”
