PHOTOS: Griffins take 3-1 series lead with Friday night win over San Jose

The Griffins scored four unanswered goals in the second period Friday night, taking control of Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals and taking control of the series with San Jose in the process. After a 6-2 win, Grand Rapids holds a 3-1 series lead, with the opportunity to finish the series on home ice tonight (Saturday) at Van Andel Arena.

Tyler Bertuzzi, Eric Tangradi, Tomas Nosek and Martin Frk all scored in a 14-minute span for the Griffins in the middle frame, after San Jose had taken a 1-0 lead in the first period. In the third, the Barracuda scored an early goal, but Ben Street scored less than a minute later to end any momentum changes. Evgeny Svechnikov added an insurance tally at the 17:17 mark of the third, giving the Griffins a 6-2 win. Jared Coreau stopped 26 of the 28 shots sent his way. (Photos by Andie Wojciak/MiHockey)
