Lumberjacks’ Keith Petruzzelli named USA Hockey’s Goalie of the Year

USA Hockey has announced its annual awards, and one of them is going to a goaltender who tended to the crease in Muskegon this year.

Lumberjacks goaltender Keith Petruzzelli has been named the Dave Peterson Goalie of the Year award winner; he will be presented with his new award at the annual USA Hockey Night of Tribute Awards Dinner on June 7.

Petruzzilli posted a 2.40 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage in 35 games for the ‘Jacks this season, recording a 22-10-0-1 record in the process. The Quinnipiac commit was named the MVP of 2017 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in January, and he even scored a goal in one contest for Muskegon.

Petruzzelli represented the U.S. in the 2016 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well. He is the No. 2-ranked North American goaltender in this year’s NHL Draft class according to NHL Central Scouting.
