The Big Ten announced its schedule for the 2017-18 college hockey season today, which means it’s time to start preparing for the Wolverines and Spartans’ upcoming campaigns.

The B1G has added Notre Dame to their hockey line-up, which means that the seven conference teams will play a 24-game schedule. The 2017-18 campaign will conclude with the 2018 Big Ten Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament, held over the last three weekends of March at on-campus locations.

The Big Ten semifinals and finals – the last two weekends of the conference schedule – will be single-elimination contests.

Michigan opens their 2017-18 B1G campaign on the road at Penn State on Oct. 27-28. Michigan State opens at Minnesota on Nov. 3-4.

The two Michigan-based programs will play in a home-and-home series on Dec. 8-9, and then again on Feb. 9-10 – with the Feb. 10 game coming in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena.

New conference foe Notre Dame will visit Michigan State on Dec. 1-2.

The Fighting Irish will play a home-and-home against Michigan the first week of January; the series will start in Ann Arbor on Friday, Jan. 5 and then shift to South Bend on Sunday, Jan. 7. Those two programs will do the same thing in reverse order on Feb. 16 and Feb. 18.

Michigan State will visit South Bend on Feb. 23-24.
