The NHL has officially stated that its players will not be going to the 2018 Olympics in South Korea.

Full statement:

It will be the first time since 1994 that NHL players won’t participate in the Winter Olympics. Time will tell how the countries will go about fielding teams. In previous Olympics, the U.S. National Team would be comprised of college players and minor pro players who would take the season off from their respective teams; the national team would compete against college and other teams to train in preparation for the Games.
