First 15 players named to U.S. roster for Men’s Worlds; seven Michigan names included

USA Hockey announced the first 15 players to commit to the U.S. Men’s National Team for the upcoming IIHF World Championship, and seven of them are Michigan names.

The following players are going to represent the Red, White and Blue from May 5-21 in Cologne, Germany and Paris, France.

J.T. Compher – Colorado Avalanche – NTDP, Michigan alum

Andrew Copp – Winnipeg Jets – Ann Arbor native; NTDP, Michigan alum

Danny DeKeyser – Detroit Red Wings – Clay Township native; Western Michigan alum

Connor Hellebuyck – Winnipeg Jets – Commerce native

Jimmy Howard – Detroit Red Wings – NTDP alum

Dylan Larkin – Detroit Red Wings – Waterford native; NTDP, Michigan alum

Jacob Trouba – Winnipeg Jets – Rochester native; NTDP, Michigan alum

 

The team will be coached by a Michigan native, as well; Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill was named the head coach of the U.S. team on Tuesday.
