Steve Ott’s stay in Detroit has come to a close.

The veteran forward – who signed with the Red Wings this past off-season – has been traded to Montreal in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.

Ott, 34, played in 34 games with the Wings this year (he was not dressed for Tuesday night’s game in Vancouver), recording six points and 63 penalty minutes in the process.

He has played in 837 career NHL games since the start of the 2002-03 season, and he has 287 total points and 1,538 total penalty minutes to his name.
