Griffins sign Cornell defenseman Patrick McCarron

The Grand Rapids Griffins have signed a defenseman out of Cornell.

The AHL club inked Patrick McCarron to an amateur tryout agreement, it was announced today.

McCarron, a 6-foot-3, 201-pound blueliner, was named All-Ivy Second Team, finishing second on the Big Red in scoring with 25 points this past season.

The Toronto native played for the St. Michael’s Buzzers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League before logging four seasons with Cornell.
