The top ten finalists for college hockey’s most prestigious individual award were named Wednesday.

Canisius senior goaltender and Canton native Charles Williams was named a Hobey Baker Award finalist, the lone Michigan representative on the list.

Williams, already named a Mike Richter Award (top goaltender) semifinalist, has posted a 19-6-5 record this season with a 1.83 goals-against average, .944 save percentage and five shutouts.

The 24-year-old spent the first three seasons of his collegiate career with Ferris State before joining Canisius. Williams also played his youth hockey with the likes of the Canton Crush, Compuware, Honeybaked and Little Caesars programs.

The Hobey Hat Trick of three finalists will be announced on March 30 with the ultimate winner named April 7 in Chicago during the Frozen Four.
