With the B1G season officially concluded, University of Michigan senior forward and captain Alex Kile has made his next move.

The Troy native has signed an amateur tryout contract with the Rochester Americans of the AHL.

The Americans are the minor-league affiliate of Buffalo; Sabres GM Tim Murray announced the signing of Kile today.

“I’m obviously very happy and looking forward to this opportunity,” Kile said via the Wolverines. “I’m extremely grateful, and this is something I’ve wanted for a long time.”

Kile registered 80 points in four seasons with the Wolverines over the course of 130 games. In 2015-16, he helped UM capture its first Big Ten Tournament championship with a career-high 16 goals, 18 assists and 34 points.

“Playing at Michigan has meant everything to me,” said Kile. “I’ve been emotionally invested the past four years, and it’s tough to leave, but I’m excited for this new chapter.”
