Reports: Red Wings to place Drew Miller on waivers

With the Red Wings’ roster healing up, Detroit needed to make a move to get to the right numbers.

Looks like Drew Miller’s the odd man out.

Multiple reports from members of the Red Wings’ media circle have tweeted that Miller – an East Lansing native and Michigan State alum – will be placed on waivers at noon.

If Miller is not claimed by any other NHL club, Miller will be assigned to Grand Rapids.

The move needed to be made to clear space for Niklas Kronwall’s return to the line-up.
