Michigan Tech’s Reid Sturos had a big weekend and he’s getting rewarded for it.

The Huskies forward was named the WCHA’s offensive player of the week after he racked up two goals and three points in a trip to Alabama Huntsville that saw Tech return home with five points in the standings.

Oh yeah, did we mention that both of the goals were shorthanded?

The Brighton native scored two shorties in Tech’s 5-2 road victory on Friday – the first of which being the game-winner.

The following night, Sturos set up Jake Lucchini’s game-tying goal to force overtime.

Sturos, a Brighton High School and Omaha Lancers alum, has 15 points in 32 games this season.
