Reed Lebster has been watching Michigan State games his whole life.

Now, he can say he’s a member of the Spartans.

The Grand Rapids native officially announced his commitment to the Spartans on Jan. 28.

“I chose MSU because of a couple things – Michigan State has a great campus, awesome facilities, and unbelievable athletic support there,” Lebster told MiHockey. “I really like the coaches and the rink.”

The ’99 birth-year forward is in the midst of his first USHL season with the Des Moines Buccaneers; Lebster has four goals and four assists for eight points in 34 games.

A product of the Grand Rapids Amateur Hockey Association and later Fox Motors, Lebster is excited to play for a collegiate program close to his hometown.

“Growing up going to the games, I know what an incredible atmosphere Munn Ice Arena has,” Lebster said. “I’m excited to play at the collegiate level and extend my career at Michigan State.”
