Chase Danol was looking for a family atmosphere during his college hockey recruiting process.

Soon, the Westland native will be skating with the Bowling Green Falcons.

“I believe that the most successful hockey programs are the ones that the coaches and players get along and become family,” Danol told MiHockey. “It was clear to me this was the philosophy of the BGSU coaches and staff. They believe in striving everyday to be your best; on and off the ice, as a student in the classroom, and as an all around person. They emphasize they not only want good hockey players and good students, but also individuals with good character that for into the Falcon family.”

Danol, currently skating for the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies U18 team, was selected by the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders last spring in the USHL Futures Draft.

That selection came after he scored the game-winning goal for his Victory Honda U16 team in the MAHA state title game last March.

The talented forward said he is excited to grow on and off the ice as a student-athlete in Bowling Green, Ohio.

“My years spent at BGSU will provide me with a great opportunity to improve as a hockey player, to get a great education, and to continue to grow as a person. I am excited to be a part of such an amazing program and I cannot wait to step foot onto the ice as a Falcon.”
