PHOTOS: Joey Strong game raises more than $18,000 for youth player battling leukemia

On Friday, Dec. 30, a hockey game took place at the Onyx Ice Arena in Rochester with a great deal more importance than wins or loses. The hockey community came together to play a charity game for Joey Gangola, a Rochester Rattlers 16U skater who is battling Acute Childhood Leukemia. The game – dubbed the ‘Joey Strong Puck Leukemia’ game – raised more than $18,000 for the young hockey player. Check out MiHockey’s photos from the game, and stay tuned for a video, as well.
