The tightly-knit hockey community continues to help West Michigan official, coach and Western Michigan alum Dave Rue in his battle with lung cancer.

The Grand Valley State University D-II team has announced that their game against Michigan State on Friday, Jan. 27 will help benefit Rue. The event is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Georgetown Ice Center in Hudsonville.

At the event, there will be a variety of raffle prizes available, and the team will also be accepting any donations to Rue at the game. Raffle prizes have been donated by the Grand Rapids Griffins, Howies Hockey Tape, the Grand Rapids Drive, the West Michigan Whitecaps and more.
