USA Hockey has announced its training camp roster for the upcoming World Junior tournament, and three Michigan names have been invited.

Michigan natives Tyler Parsons (Chesterfield, London Knights) and Alex DeBrincat (Farmington Hills, Erie Otters) have received invites to the camp, as well as University of Michigan defenseman Joe Cecconi.

Parsons, who backstopped London to a Memorial Cup last season, is leading the OHL in goals-against average this season with a 2.31 mark. His .920 save percentage is barely second in the league, and he’s also second in shutouts with a pair on the campaign.

DeBrincat, former OHL Rookie of the Year, posted back-to-back 51-goal seasons the past two years, topping the 100-point plateau in each season. This year, he’s off to an even hotter pace – producing over two points per game on average – with 28 goals  (league lead) and 28 assists for 56 points (second only to teammate Taylor Raddysh) in just 26 games.

A sophomore defenseman for the Wolverines, Cecconi has posted an assist through 14 games this season on the blue line and has eight points in his career. The Muskegon Lumberjacks alum was also a fifth-round pick of the Dallas Stars in 2015.

The camp takes place from Dec. 16-20 at HarborCenter in Buffalo.

Twenty-seven players were selected for the camp by the Team USA coaching and scouting staff.

“This is a talented, versatile group of players that has found success across all levels of hockey,” said Jim Johannson, USA Hockey’s assistant executive director of hockey operations and the general manager of the 2017 U.S. National Junior Team. “There is depth at every position, and while we still have some difficult decision to make, we feel each of these players can fit the style of hockey Coach Motzko (U.S. head coach Bob Motzko) first implemented at our National Junior Evaluation Camp last August.”
