The Chicago Blackhawks have signed one of their promising prospects, and he’s a Michigan native, too.

On Monday, the Hawks announced that they’ve inked Farmington Hills native and Victory Honda alum Alex DeBrincat to a three-year, entry-level deal.

DeBrincat, a member of the OHL’s Erie Otters, was Chicago’s second-round draft pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. DeBrincat was named the OHL Rookie of the Year in 2014-15 after posting a staggering 51 goals and 104 points in 68 games. He followed that up in 2015-16 with another 50-goal season, this time racking up 101 points in 60 games.

This season is no different for DeBrincat, as he has already posted 17 goals and 35 points in just 14 games. His goals pace the league, while his point total is second only to teammate Taylor Raddysh.
