Ten players with Michigan ties invited to NHLPA Rookie Showcase

The National Hockey League Player’s Association announced today the 27 NHL prospects and rookies that will attend the 2016 NHLPA Rookie Showcase in Toronto.

Now in its eighth year, the prestigious Rookie Showcase gives Upper Deck – the official trading card partner of the NHLPA and NHL – a chance to photograph and film top young talent heading into the 2016-17 season. the event also serves as a chance for members of the media to meet with many elite prospects all under one roof.

Here are the players with Michigan ties invited:

 

Riley Barber (Capitals) – Livonia native, NTDP alum

Kyle Connor (Jets) – Shelby Township native, Michigan alum

Thatcher Demko (Canucks) – NTDP alum

Kevin Labanc (Sharks) – NTDP alum

Ryan MacInnis (Coyotes) – NTDP alum

Tyler Motte (Blackhawks) – St. Clair native, NTDP and Michigan alum

Evgeny Svechnikov (Red Wings)

Matthew Tkachuk (Flames) – NTDP alum

Alex Tuch (Wild) – NTDP alum

Zach Werenski (Blue Jackets) – Grosse Pointe native, NTDP and Michigan alum
