The Krygier brothers are off to Wisconsin – well, at least in a few years.

Twins Christian and Cole Krygier committed to the University of Wisconsin today. The two are committed to the Lincoln Stars of the USHL for the upcoming season.

“We knew we wanted to go to the same spot and Wisconsin was interested in both of us,” Cole Krygier said, via the USHL. “We were really impressed with what they had to offer. They have one of the best coaching staffs and some of the best facilities in college hockey.

“Wisconsin was the first school we visited and we didn’t think there was a need to visit any other school. Staying in the Big Ten and the Midwest were some of the most important things.”

The Novi natives are set to join the Badgers for the 2018-19 season.

This past season, the two played for the Little Caesars U16 club. Following the 2015-16 campaign, Christian signed a USHL tender contract with the USHL’s Stars – meaning the team effectively used their first-round pick in the 2016 USHL Phase 1 Draft to claim him. Cole, meanwhile, was selected by the same team in the fifth round of the Phase 1 Draft.

“We’re excited to have both players in Lincoln,” Stars general manager Jon Hull said, via the USHL. “We think their development curve is trending up and we think their time in the USHL will help prepare them for the next level.”

The twins are sons of Todd Krygier, a former NHLer and former head coach of Novi High School and the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Todd recently joined Andy Murray’s coaching staff at Western Michigan University.
