“Hockey Player’s Bible” a must-read for youth players

By @StefanKubus –

If there’s one thing a young hockey player should carry with them to the rink or keep in their wallet, it’s this.

Former Stanley Cup-winning head coach and GM of the Detroit Red Wings Jimmy Skinner laid forth 17 rules for hockey players to follow in a list titled “A Hockey Player’s Bible.”

Reddit user /u/ClumsyOne received the guide on a laminated card for his 12th birthday as a gift from his father. The card even featured a personalized note on the back from Skinner.

The note reads,

“Nicolas,

Tips to remember when you are on the ice:

Skate hard

Put out at all times

Be fair.”
