We now know why Pavel Datsyuk left for the KHL – epic commercial spots.

OK, obviously there’s more to it than that, but The Magic Man is featured in this promo for SKA St. Petersburg’s upcoming season…along with guns, a guy chomping on liver and another guy taking a sledgehammer to a giant tire.

Not too sure what’s actually going on here, but, if you wanted a weird mash-up of a Jason Statham movie, a hockey team and just some overall weirdness, here you go (and yes, that’s Ilya Kovalchuk on the team, as well).

It’s still not the most epic commercial Datsyuk has starred in, however. Hockeytown will never forget this gem.
