Starting in the 2016-17 season, a new group of players will be skating under the historic Honeybaked hockey brand.

The Suburban Hockey Club and Michigan Icebreakers Girls Hockey Club will be merging together with the Honeybaked AAA organization to form a new association – the HB Hockey Club.

“We have always had in ‘informal affiliation’ between the programs, with many players and coaches advancing to the Tier I HoneyBaked level,” said HB Director Lyle Phair.  “With the direction that USA Hockey and MAHA have been heading, it made sense to formally create one association that would allow us to operate more efficiently and create a better experience for the players and families moving forward.”

The eight Tier I boys teams and four Tier I girls Honeybaked teams will continue to skate with the iconic Honeybaked Hockey name on the front of their jerseys.

Meanwhile, the teams at the Tier II level for boys and girls – the teams that come from the Suburban club and the Icebreakers club – will now be called HB, and wear jerseys featuring the newly-minted HB Hockey shield logo.

Teams will be formed for the 10U, 12U and 14U B/Tier III (house/recreational) levels, and they will skate under the HB moniker.

The 8-and-Under program within the HB Hockey Club will have three different levels of play:

  • Level 1 – ages 4 through 8 learning how to play
  • Level 2 – ages 5 and 6
  • Level 3 – ages 7 and 8
