Five Michigan natives named to U.S. Under-17 Select Team

USA Hockey has announced its roster for the upcoming Under-17 Five Nations Tournament at the Dr Pepper StarCenter Arena Frisco in Frisco, Texas, and five Michigan natives made the squad.

The roster was selected from players participating in the USA Hockey Select 16 Player Development Camp in Amherst, N.Y.

Congrats to the following Michigan players who will be on the U.S. Under-17 Select Team squad when they begin competition against Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany. The tournament gets underway on Aug. 9.

Michigan’s five representatives, most of any state (tied with Minnesota):

Jeremy Davidson – Forward – Kalamazoo

Calen Kiefiuk – Forward – Macomb

Christian Krygier – Defense – Novi

Jacob Semik – Defense – Canton

Drew DeRidder – Goaltender – Fenton
