UPDATE (3:10 p.m. ET) – Per Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News, Dan Milstein – Pavel Datsyuk’s agent – says the reports out of Russia are untrue, and that his client has yet to speak with any teams.

More on that story here.

Multiple reports are coming out of Russia that Pavel Datsyuk is making plans to play hockey in his homeland next season.

Per both Sportfakt.Ru and SportsDaily.Ru, Datsyuk has agreed to a two-year contract with SKA of the KHL in Russia.

Links to both articles – translated from Russian to English – are included above. Per the broken text, it appears that Datsyuk has agreed to terms, but has not put pen to paper just yet.

The 37-year-old forward had said at the conclusion of the Red Wings’ season that he would make a decision after playing in the World Championship with Russia – he and the Russians play Finland in the world semifinals tomorrow.

In what is now becoming quite the storyline, however, MiHockey suggests that fans wait until an official announcement from Datsyuk or the Red Wings; we’re just sharing the latest headlines.
