Last year, he was named junior player of the year.

This year, he has been named college player of the year.

Kyle Connor added another impressive award to his trophy case today, as he was named USA Hockey’s college hockey of the player.

The Shelby Township native and freshman forward for the University of Michigan posted 35 goals and 36 assists for 71 points in 38 games to lead the NCAA in scoring this past season.

He was named the 2016 recipient of the Tim Taylor Award for the NCAA’s top rookie, and he was a Hobey Hat Trick finalist.

A first-team All-American and Big Ten player/rookie of the year, Connor signed with the Winnipeg Jets – the team that selected him in the first round of the NHL Draft last summer – at the conclusion of the 2015-16 season.
