ESPN has released a seven-minute preview of a longer feature with former NHL player Patrick O’Sullivan and his devastatingly-gripping story of growing up with an abusive father.

Though he was born in Toronto, O’Sullivan grew up in Michigan. He and his family moved to the Metro Detroit area when he was ten years old, and O’Sullivan then played for Belle Tire – the program formerly skated out of what is now Fraser Hockeyland – and eventually USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program. A portion of the feature is filmed at Fraser Hockeyland, while another part shows O’Sullivan’s childhood Sterling Heights home.

A full, 30-minute episode from ESPN will be coming soon, according to O’Sullivan.
