Shane Berschbach named ECHL Player of the Week

Clawson native Shane Berschbach has just received more honors from the ECHL.

The league announced today that Berschbach, a member of the Toledo Walleye, has been named its Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week.

Berschbach has now received the honor twice this season, and he was also named ECHL Player of the Month in January.

From Feb. 15-21, Berschbach racked up five goals and four assists for nine points in four games.

The 24-year-old product of Western Michigan recorded a pair of assists in a 4-3 win against Colorado on Wednesday, two goals in a 5-2 loss on Friday, two goals and an assists in a 4-3 win Saturday and a goal and an assist in a 2-0 win against Kalamazoo Sunday.

Berschbach is currently tied for fifth in the ECHL with 51 points in 44 games this season.

He has recorded 116 career points in 112 ECHL games.
