Pinckney native Dominik Shine had quite the month of December, and because of it, he is the WCHA player of the month.

The Northern Michigan forward ranked as one of the top goal-scorers in the nation during the final month of 2015, posting a WCHA-highs of six goals and eight points.

He helped the Wildcats to a 2-1-1 record in league play and a 3-2-1 overall, posting two game-winning goals in the process. On Dec. 4, he recorded a hat trick at Alabama Huntsville, then he scored the overtime winner on Dec. 12 against Ferris State.

Shine also became just the third-ever Wildcat to earn All-Tournament honors at the Great Lakes Invitational, after he scored against Michigan and added the game-tying goal in NMU’s eventual overtime win over Michigan State in the third-place game.
