AHL All-Star rosters announced; eight Michigan names invited

The American Hockey League has announced its rosters for the upcoming AHL All-Star Classic, and eight players with Michigan ties have been invited to the event.

Check out the list below, which features two members of the Grand Rapids Griffins and three Michigan natives.

The 2016 Toyota AHL All-Star Classic takes place January 31 and February 1 in Syracuse, N.Y. Griffins captain Jeff Hoggan was previously announced for the roster, as he was named captain of the Western Conference squad two days ago.

 

Western Conference

  • Connor Hellebuyck – Commerce native
  • Xavier Ouellet – Grand Rapids Griffins
  • Ryan Hartman – NTDP and Plymouth Whalers alum
  • Jeff Hoggan – Grand Rapids Griffins
  • Derek Grant – Michigan State alum

 

Eastern Conference

  • Michael McCarron – Macomb native, NTDP alum
  • Matt Taormina – Warren native
  • Connor Carrick – NTDP and Plymouth Whalers alum
