It’s a clean sweep of the NCAA weekly awards by Michigan hockey products.

North Dakota goaltender Cam Johnson (Troy), Western Michigan forward Griffen Molino (Trenton) and Michigan forward Kyle Connor (Shelby Township) have claimed the three national weekly awards, the NCAA announced today.

Johnson racked up two shutouts in his team’s sweep of Minnesota Duluth this past weekend. He stopped 40 shots en route to a 3-0 victory on Friday, then made 38 more on Saturday night for another 3-0 win. It was Johnson’s third straight shutout; he hasn’t allowed a goal in 218:38 worth of playing time.

Molino led the Broncos to a sweep of Colorado College. On Friday, he recorded a goal and two assists in a 7-3 victory, and then he followed that up with two goals and two assists in a 5-3 win on Saturday. The freshman forward and Muskegon Lumberjacks alum leads WMU in scoring with 14 points (five goals, nine assists).

Connor rounds out the Michigan natives in the weekly awards list after scoring five goals and one assist in two games against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Shelby Township native and Wolverines freshmen posted a hat trick and an assist in Friday’s 8-3 win, then two goals in a 3-2 loss Saturday.
