UPDATE (Dec. 10, 2015): The Griffins released Nagle from his professional tryout less than 24 hours after announcing the roster transaction, as the Red Wings have reassigned Jake Paterson to Grand Rapids. Nagle served as back-up to Jared Coreau last night in the Griffins’ 4-1 win over Milwaukee.

Pat Nagle is coming back to Grand Rapids.

The Bloomfield Hills native has signed a professional tryout contract with the AHL club, the Griffins announced on Wednesday.

It will be Nagle’s second stint with the Griffins, after he appeared in two games for Grand Rapids during the 2014-15 season. In that timeframe, he recorded a 0.78 goals-against average and .971 save percentage. Nagle recorded his first win as a Griffin by stopping 29 shots in a 5-1 victory over Utica on Jan. 23.

Nagle currently holds a 2.51 goals-against average and a 5-4-0 record with the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Komets this year.

Before his professional career, Nagle, 28, spent four seasons with Ferris State, racking up a 2.32 goals-against average and 45-42-11 record.
