New building, new name for the mascot.

That’s one of the many things USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program is working on as their inaugural season in Plymouth begins. The NTDP has asked fans to help name their mascot with their new “Name the Eagle” campaign.

“With this year’s move to the USA Hockey Arena, our team is in a new era,” said Scott Monaghan, senior director of operations at the NTDP, in a release. “Our primary focus will always be developing our athletes. Now we want to expose them to a larger fan base and create an engaging game-day environment that keeps them coming back. Part of that is having a mascot for fans to enjoy.”

Fans can submit name suggestions at this link, or through the team’s social media channels – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The #NTDPEagle debuted during the 2014 Under-17 Four Nations Tournament in Ann Arbor. They’ll announce a new name for their Eagle during one of their games in late October.
