The Detroit Red Wings will be hosting their ninth annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Friday when the team hosts the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Red Wings will have a silent auction, a mystery puck draw and a special sale of Red Wings baseball hats with all the proceeds benefiting the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.

The funds raised will help with the costs of breast cancer screening and treatment for uninsured and underinsured women in the metro Detroit area.

The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a BCA Night themed T-shirt. Meanwhile, fans who wear pink to the game will be entered to win a team-signed jersey by picking up a raffle ticket on the concourse behind Section 126.

That same location will hold a puck draw and a silent auction full of Red Wings items.

Several of the Wings’ significant others will be selling hockey pucks as part of the mystery draw – for $35, fans have a chance to draw from an assortment of 300 hockey pucks signed by members of the 2015-16 team.

The fan who draws a puck signed in gold by Jimmy Howard will get to meet the Wings’ netminder after the game.

Items at the auction include:

Defenseman Brendan Smith’s tickets to the Red Wings game on Tuesday, Nov. 10 against the Washington Capitals with a post-game meet and greet
2015-16 team-signed Jimmy Howard goalie stick
2013-14 team-signed Winter Classic replica jersey
Detroit Tigers package featuring four lower-bowl tickets to a mutually determined game during the 2016 season, along with an opportunity to watch batting practice from the field and meet a Tigers coach or player
Framed 2014 Olympian poster autographed by all Red Wings players and staff who participated in the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia
Variety of Red Wings experiences, including the opportunity to ride the Zamboni at a Red Wings home game

Other activities include:

The Red Wings will honor those affected by breast cancer by hosting 40 patients and survivors in two suites. Each survivor will receive a special gift bag with Red Wings and breast cancer awareness items enclosed.
Defenseman Brendan Smith will welcome 20 two-time breast cancer patients and survivors in a suite and meet his guests outside the locker room following the game.
Captain Henrik Zetterberg will host breast cancer patients along with their families in the Zetterberg Foundation Suite.
The Red Wings will host more than 60 breast cancer patients, survivors and their guests during the team’s morning skate at 10:30 a.m. prior to Breast Cancer Awareness Night.
The Red Wings will wear pink-themed jerseys during warm-ups on Friday, which will then be auctioned online at www.auctions.nhl.com with the proceeds benefitting The Pink Fund. The auction will open on Friday, Oct. 16 following the Red Wings game against Carolina and will run through Thursday, Oct. 29.
Fans can purchase black baseball hats with an embroidered pink and white Winged Wheel logo for $20 (cash and check only) behind Section 117 on the concourse to benefit the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
Two women’s T-shirt styles will be available for purchase on the concourse for $20 each, along with a BCA-themed pin for $5. Following BCA Night, the items can be purchased at Hockeytown Authentics in Troy (1845 E. Big Beaver Rd.).
A portion of the Detroit Red Wings Foundation’s 50/50 raffle on Friday will benefit The Pink Fund.
