Gerald Mayhew had himself quite a weekend, and the WCHA took notice.

The Ferris State junior forward recorded two goals and four points to help his Bulldogs post an unbeaten record against visiting Wisconsin over the weekend.

Mayhew recorded two goals and an assist on Friday, playing a role in FSU’s rally from a 4-2 deficit to a 5-5 tie. Then on Saturday, he picked up an assist on the Bulldogs’ opening goal in a 2-1 victory.

The Wyandotte native finished the weekend with eight total shots on goal, a plus-one rating and a blocked shot.

Meanwhile, Northern Michigan’s Atte Tolvanen continued his impressive rookie season with the Wildcats, stopping 63 shots to help NMU split in their home-and-home series with Michigan Tech. The native of Vihti, Finland stopped 19 of 20 in a 4-1 victory on Friday, then turned aside 43 shots on Saturday, despite a 3-1 loss at the end.
