The Detroit Red Wings have announced the return of their “Little Wings” program for a second season.

With their “Little Wings” initiative, the Red Wings – along with partners CCM Hockey and Perani’s Hockey World – give aspiring hockey players the chance to try the sport in an affordable way.

Children between the ages of 5-8 can participate in the “Little Wings” program at the eight locations listed below – which is double the amount of last year. For the 2015-16 hockey season, the Wings are offering the chance for up to 400 participants to get sized and outfitted in CCM gear (through the Perani’s location in Livonia) and go through four hours of ice-time for only $100 per person.

“The Detroit Red Wings are extremely excited with the progress of the Little Wings program,” said Phil Pierce, the Wings’ fan development and youth hockey manager. “It helps grow the game of hockey at a young age and gets kids involved in hockey at an extremely low cost. Most importantly, all the kids that participated in the program had fun.”

This year’s locations:

  • Dearborn Ice Skating Center (Dearborn)
  • Farmington Hills Ice Arena (Farmington Hills)
  • Mt. Clemens Ice Arena (Mt. Clemens)
  • Novi Ice Arena (Novi)
  • Plymouth Cultural Center (Plymouth)
  • St. Clair Shores Civic Arena (St. Clair Shores)
  • Kennedy Recreation Center (Trenton)
  • Troy Sports Center (Troy)

Registration is now available at DetroitRedWings.com/LittleWings.
