TSN is reporting that the NHL will have a new brand for their team uniforms starting for 2016-17.

According to a report from TSN senior correspondent Rick Westhead, Adidas has emerged as the winner of a bidding process to produce NHL uniforms for all 30 teams.

Adidas would be taking over for Reebok, though Reebok is an Adidas brand.

Per Westhead, the deal will be double the monetary amount that the current $35 million per season Reebok pays to the league. Adidas allegedly beat out Under Armour and Bauer for the jersey contract.

Adidas also owns CCM, however; the report suggests Adida’s famed three-stripe trademark could appear on the jerseys, but maybe it would be a CCM logo instead.

The TSN report indicates that Connor McDavid has already shot a promotional film for Adidas, and that they will attempt to feature Sidney Crosby in their marketing campaigns, as well.

Westhead says multiple sources have told him that the league is moving closer to incorporating on-jersey advertising, as well.
