Muskegon Lumberjacks officially announce sale of team to Israel brothers

The Muskegon Lumberjacks have officially announced their new ownership group of Bruce and Dan Israel as they prepare for the 2015-16 USHL season.

After months of negotiations, the Israel brothers have finalized their purchase of the Muskegon program, investing in the United States Hockey League franchise in an opportunity “we couldn’t pass up,” according to Dan Israel.

“We could not be more thankful for the city’s willingness to provide us with a minimum three-year lease of the arena,” Israel said in a press release. “Muskegon shows a strong commitment to keeping the hockey tradition in the City of Muskegon, and we are fully engaged to do that.”

The USHL franchise, coming off a Clark Cup Final appearance, will continue to be led by general manager John Vanbiesbrouck and coach Todd Krygier.

“Our goal for this year and every year is to be the best junior hockey organization in the world, on and off the ice,” said Dan Israel.
