The Muskegon Lumberjacks announced today that they have made an addition to their coaching staff.

Royal Oak native Joshua Shields will join head coach Todd Krygier and assistant coach Todd Robinson to round out the 2015-16 ‘Jacks coaching staff.

“I’m looking forward to the season and working with Krygier, Robinson and the rest of the staff,” Shields said in a release. “Hockey has been a huge part of the Muskegon community for so many years, and I’m really excited to be a part of it. I’m really grateful for all the people who have helped me get here, especially my family, and wouldn’t have made it here without their support.”

Shields previously coached the ACHA’s Ferris State club team, along with serving as a volunteer coach for the Ferris State varsity program. He also coached the Little Caesars 16U team.

He is a Bishop Foley high school hockey and Ferris State club team alum.
