Griffins to travel to Bowling Green, Windsor for preseason games

The Grand Rapids Griffins have announced a pair of preseason games for their 2015-16 season, but neither are at Van Andel Arena.

The Red Wings’ AHL affiliate will play the Lake Erie Monsters in Bowling Green, Ohio, on Friday, Oct. 2. That game will take place at the Bowling Green State University Ice Arena, home to the WCHA’s BGSU Falcons. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

The next night, the two AHL clubs will square off once again, this time at the Windsor Family Credit Union Center in Windsor, Ontario. The puck drop for the game at the home of the Windsor Spitfires is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Last year, the Griffins and the Monsters played at WFCU Center and at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind.
