Team USA officials have trimmed the roster for their 2015 USA Hockey Junior Evaluation camp, leaving just 32 players remaining in the unofficial tryout for the upcoming World Juniors tournament.

Kyle Connor (Shelby Township), Brandon Halverson (Traverse City), Dylan Larkin (Waterford) and Zach Werenski (Grosse Pointe) remain on the camp list.

Josh Jacobs (Shelby Township) was one of the players released this morning.

“As a staff, we have been very pleased with the competitiveness of the 39 players in camp,” said Jim Johannson, USA Hockey’s assistant executive director of hockey operations and the general manager of the 2016 U.S. National Junior Team, in a release. “The three remaining games this week provide an opportunity for our head coach, Ron Wilson, to be on the bench with the players to continue to grow our identity and team principles. We will continue to evaluate the players released today along with some others not in Lake Placid throughout the fall.”

Camp continues with practices and games against Finland (Wednesday), Sweden (Thursday) and Finland again (Saturday). All of the games are played at the Olympic Center’s 1980 Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid.

Through three games already played, Larkin has one goal and two assists, while Werenski and Connor both have two assists. Halverson currently holds a .891 save percentage and a 4.11 goals-against average.

Halverson, Larkin and Werenski were all on last year’s World Junior team, while Connor – reigning USA Hockey Junior Player of the Year – is in strong contention for a spot this season.
