One of Michigan’s best has signed with a team in the new National Women’s Hockey League.

Shiann Darkangelo, a native of Brighton, was one of three players to recently sign with the Connecticut Whale – one of the four founding teams in the new women’s league.

Darkangelo just concluded her senior season at Quinnipiac University, recording 20 points in 37 games, with a +17 rating.

“It means I am able to continue to chase my dream while being part of something bigger then myself, and continuing to help grow the sport doing what I love,” Darkangelo said via the league’s official website.
